We’d love to see you before that, why not join us for the Prescott Bike Festival on April 17th 2016.

About Us

The Bike Festivals are unique – their principal aim is to make sure all our visitors have a great day out in the beautiful settings of two of the most historic motorsport venues in the UK. This year, 2015, sees our very first Festival at Shelsley Walsh, the oldest continually running motorsport venue in the world. A very different track to Prescott and one we hope you will grow to enjoy every bit as much.

The Bike Festivals raise vital funds and awareness for the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes and the organising, regional Blood Bike group, Severn Freewheelers

NABB, charity no: 1139714 Severn Freewheelers, charity no: 1120999

A great day out and supporting Blood Bikes – what could be better?

NABB was officially formed in 2010 and is the umbrella body to which most regional blood bike groups belong. NABB has three simple objectives:

  • To act as a forum for the benefit of all member Blood Bike Groups
  • To assist in the formation of new groups.
  • To raise awareness, funds and volunteers for the benefit of all the member groups.

A typical NABB member, e.g. Severn Freewheelers, provide a free, out of weekend and public holidays; transporting blood, tissue samples, frozen we’ll deliver it. Riders all carry an approved Advanced Riding.

Most groups operate from 19:00 to 07:00 on weekdays and 24 hours at the weekend and public holidays, transporting blood, tissue samples, frozen human milk, pathology samples, patient notes etc. If it fits on a motorcycle we’ll deliver it. Their riders all carry an approved Advanced Riding qualification and are trained in emergency response and handling of their cargo.

Severn Freewheelers make around 400 calls per month, covering 150k miles per annum on emergency response BMW R1200RT’s.

Volunteers consist of riders, despatchers and helpers – all much needed to run their vital service.
